These are two of the oldest stately homes that offer a glimpse into plantation life in the 1800’s. Each plantation offers a guided tour, detailing the mansions’ history and way of life along the Mississippi River in the South.
Houmas House – 9:30 am – 7:00 pm
(Tours start every half hour until 5 pm, last two are at 6 pm and 7 pm.)
Destrehan Plantation –
Monday – Thursday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Friday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
(Tours start every hour)
Guest may chose when each tour is taken must be on scheduled day or the day after.
