Capture Special Moments at Houmas House Estate & Gardens
Houmas House Estate & Gardens is the perfect backdrop for bridal, graduation, and family photos. To ensure the best experience, please schedule your session in advance by emailing the Gift Shop at [email protected] or calling 225-473-9380. Photo sessions and dressing room access are subject to availability, and walk-ins cannot be guaranteed access.
Special events may impact access to certain areas. Reserving does not guarantee access to all. On your session day, please be mindful of other guests or photo sessions that may be taking place. Avoid blocking walkways and pathways for the comfort and safety of all visitors.
“Traditional tourist pictures” in the Gardens require only a Garden ticket—no special photography fee. We encourage you to share your photos on social media and tag us at @houmashouse on Instagram and @Houmas House and Gardens on Facebook.
A photo session fee applies if a group or individual has a designated photographer (professional or non-professional), uses photography equipment (including mobile devices), or if special outfits are involved.

Photo session hours: Sunday – Saturday, 9 AM – 7 PM (completed by 8 PM).
Bridal Photos:
- Access to Grounds Only
- $400 for up to 4 guests (including the photographer/s) + $35 for each additional guest
- Access to a shared dressing room (subject to availability)
- There is an additional fee of $200 for photography inside of the Mansion – must be pre-arranged before the day of the scheduled photo session (subject to availability)
Special Occasion Photos: Including but not limited to Birthdays, Quinceaneras, Engagement, Maternity, Infant/Child/Teen Photos
- Access to Grounds Only
- $400 for up to 4 guests (including the photographer/s) + $35 for each additional guest
- Access to a shared dressing room (subject to availability)
Senior/Graduation/Prom/Homecoming Photos:
- Access to Grounds Only
- $75 for 2 Guests (including the photographer/s) + $35 for each additional guest
Proposals:
- Access to Grounds Only
- $400 for up to 4 guests + $35 for each additional guest – This fee is fixed and non-negotiable, regardless of any dining or other services being utilized on the premises.
- Viewing the property before your proposal? A Garden Fee will be charged upon arrival.
- Any props must be approved by the Event Liaison in advance. Failure to do so may result in refusal of admittance.
- Confetti, glitter, flower petals, and burning candles are prohibited.
- Approved setups must be placed on grass, not on concrete walkways or pathways.
- If staff assistance is required for the setup, an additional $200 labor fee will apply.
- Fees must be paid in advance to the Event Liaison.
All fees are subject to tax.
