This self-paced experience is perfect for families or anyone looking to enjoy the fresh air and the outdoors. The garden enthusiast will enjoy tropical flowers and plants year-round and will appreciate the design and color patterns throughout all 38 acres. Paved walkways are available for the mobility impaired and plenty of sitting nooks are scattered throughout. Wildlife roams freely, so guests will enjoy being accompanied by peacocks, hens, and much more.
We do not recommend using rideshare services to get to Houmas House from surrounding metropolitan cities. This is a rural area and you will not have a ride back.

We suggest that guests wear comfortable shoes. High heels are not recommended as the property is quite expensive. In the summer months, our climate is very warm. We do suggest cool, comfortable clothes. Our winters are mild, but occasionally it does get cold so please be prepared.
