Carpenter/ Maintenance Helper: The maintenance helper will have a large range of responsibilities. Must have maintenance experience with painting and performing light repair work which includes but is not limited to changing light bulbs/AC filters and repairing small items such as leaky faucets and broken windows. Minor carpenter repairs will be necessary, but experience not required. Completing other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).

Housekeeping: Full time/Part time - You will be required to clean, detail and renew cottages daily similar to a hotel. (Including maintaining linens for the cottages) Hotel experience is desired but not required. (You will be trained if necessary) Flexibility with daily duties upon request is a must. Duties include but ARE NOT LIMITED TO cleaning and restocking all restrooms as well as dusting and mopping. Maintaining cleanliness in all buildings on the property including cleaning and polishing silver periodically. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events such as weddings, large parties and gatherings both company and personal etc. Please do not apply if your not a team player!!

Tour Guide: Full Time and Part Time Tour Guides needed. Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with people from all nationalities. Having a theatrical background and an interest in history is a plus. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work varied hours.

Bartender: Houmas House is looking for full-time & part-time bartenders. We are seeking experienced bartenders with extensive knowledge in cocktails, wine and spirits. Applicant must be hardworking, enthusiastic, sociable and must demonstrate quality customer service. Applicant must also be punctual, willing to learn and be able to do mild physical work. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: keeping the bar clean, organized and stocked. The bartender will also need to juggle multiple tasks while making and serving drinks.

Gift Shop Attendant: The Houmas House Gift Shop is looking for someone experienced in retail with superior customer service skills. Daily duties include but not limited to: selling tour tickets, working as cashier, restaurant/inn reservations, shipping and receiving boxes, organizing and arranging inventory, answering customers’ calls and questions, and opening and closing the store. Applicant must be able to work nights and weekends when scheduled. Applicant should have basic computer level skills, along with capabilities to work reservation platforms and Microsoft Office Programs. Proper office etiquette and customer service skills is required. Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.

Chef job description: We are looking for a professional Line Cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive chef and team with their daily tasks. Dishwasher job description: Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
